Recurrent trichobezoar in a patient with Rapunzel syndrome

Rapunzel syndrome is a condition where trichobezoar formed in the stomach and proximal intestine due to hair ingestion. A 6-year-old girl presented emergency department with abdominal pain, vomiting palpable epigastric mass. Laparotomy was performed for gastric foreign body; that filled stomach, duodenum small removed. Postoperative course uncomplicated; patient discharged further out-patient follow-up psychological care. After 7 months, recurrence. recurrent removed via laparotomy. The started on psychiatric treatment iron substitution anaemia. Ten weeks after discharge, gastroscopy negative body. There are no guidelines removal. Since disease may be recurrent, endoscopy should considered order enable an early diagnosis less invasive treatment.
